Seems there was a bit of a row in L.A. yesterday between police and pro-immigration protesters. Rubber bullets were the ammo-of-the-day used to disperse a formerly peaceful crowd. Democracy Now has a report but it is not up on their site as of this posting.

I wonder why this is being handled so badly. There is no need for excessive force to be used, if some people are causing problems by assaulting the police that is no reason to be thugs about it.
Find the troublemakers and excise them from the crowd, but to willy-nilly shoot everyone is very troubling.

Personally I feel illegal immigration is a serious problem especially serious with so many Middle Easterns with an axe to grind against the US thanks to the chimp-in-chief and his stupid war.

Compare illegal immigration to someone moving onto your front lawn without your permission and setting up housekeeping. The worst part is when you go to remove them they yell and shout they should be allowed to stay put whether you like it or not.

I’m sorry but I worked hard to afford my yard and don’t appreciate someone camping out and claiming it for themselves. So there in lies the dilemma, it is YOUR yard that someone you don’t know is claiming for themselves as if it is their right to be there. To me that is a travesty to have what you have worked for be hijacked by someone you do not know and taken from you.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not against immigration, just ILLEGAL immigration. Go through the process like everyone else, don’t just come here believing you DESERVE to be here, it does not endear you to the residents that worked for what they have.

Many of our ancestors came to this country early in the 20th Century, learned the language and were granted citizenship through the immigration processes at the time. There needs to be workable processes in place to address immigrants and their application for citizenship, it should be simple and straightforward and compassionate.

Immigrants that would shortcut and not apply for citizenship are not 3rd class people and should not be treated as such, just given a choice of application or return to their original country, nicely, criminal background checks need to be done to avoid letting in the ner-do-wells, we have enough of those already.

By scrutinizing people wishing to make the US their home it would ensure those folks, as well as our, safety is retained at a higher level. Right now the system is sloppy and mean spirited and needs to be changed, the rif-raf needs to be culled from the incoming masses, real thought and substance needs to be applied to immigration, the sooner the better.
