Racially Pure Tuesday

The Guardian reports that

“A controversial bill that officially defines Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people has been approved by cabinet despite warnings that the move risks undermining the country’s democratic character.

Opponents, including some cabinet ministers, said the new legislation defined reserved “national rights” for Jews only and not for its minorities, and rights groups condemned it as racist.

The bill, which is intended to become part of Israel’s basic laws, would recognise Israel’s Jewish character, institutionalise Jewish law as an inspiration for legislation and delist Arabic as a second official language.”

Netanyahu’s measure is much worse than that of Mississippi fundamentalists who want to declare Mississippi a principally Christian state and want to celebrate the white-supremacist Confederacy as part of the state’s heritage.

Back to the grind again, I lock up my computer when I go to work and it is too much of a pain to set it back up so you won’t see me in the evenings.
It looks like the Ferguson crowd went bonkers over night, looting pillaging and burning, stupid, real stupid, could not wait for the Black Friday deals I guess.

Jim, we’ve been recording “Z Nation,” didn’t catch that one’s first episode either. We’ll be watching it though. It’s going to be hard to have a whole new cast. The zombies will probably look the same though.

We’re recording this season’s “Walking Dead,” will watch it when it’s done. Rather, when we catch the first episode that we missed. Bob said season is over, will catch the repeat of episode one this coming week.

Den, I don’t know what our Genie DVR will do if the disc gets full, but we’ll never let that happen. We’re trying to keep up and erase stuff A.S.A.P.

Doc, did you mean your computer died? Your PC?

By the way, are you doing your visiting here via your cell phone? Seems like it since your comments are very brief. I’m thinking it’s because you’re using your thumbs to type on a cell phone and it’s tedious.

That would kill me, the touch typist. My fingers fly across the keys. I would hate to have to tap out sentences with my thumbs.

What’s with the Hagel resignation anyway, I wonder. One guy in that position is as good as any other.

Urge the EPA to Finalize a Strong Power Plant Rule to Reduce Global Warming Emissions

    Dear colleague,

Please join me in taking this action from the Union of Concerned Scientists urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to strengthen the power plant carbon pollution rule: https://secure3.convio.net/ucs/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=4230.

The EPA recently proposed standards to limit the carbon pollution from power plants—the largest source of global warming emissions in the United States. This is a significant step forward in our efforts together to tackle climate change and protect our health, environment, and economy. While the proposal has many promising elements, it could be stronger.

The EPA wants to know what you think and is now accepting comments on this new rule before it is finalized.

Please tell EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to finalize a stronger power plant carbon rule that strengthens emissions reduction targets and accelerates the transition to a clean energy economy: HERE
