Worrisome Wednesday

Coming to a city somewhere. :(

Coming to a city somewhere. čśŽ

In May, hundreds of doctors, nurses and health-care professionals from Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) called on Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown to take a stronger position against proposed oil-by-rail shipping terminals in their respective states, in order to insure the health and physical security of families and communities there.

Washington PSR describes itself as a group that promotes “peace and health for the human community and the global ecosystem by empowering members, citizens and policy makers to develop and model for the rest of the nation socially just and life-enhancing policies regarding nuclear issues, climate change, environmental toxins, vulnerable populations and other risks to human health.”

The group has sounded the alarm over what it sees as a direct health threat to the country stemming from the oil-by-rail system.

See that red tanker truck in the photo? That kind of tanker drives past out house to the pipeline up the road quite a lot, several times a week. There used to be the smaller kind, now just that big red mama is showing up.

Hot today, but really windy. Still, the humidity it awful so I put the A/C on. I put my sweat band on before that but sweat was running down my cheeks, lol. That did it.

The gate to the side of the house with the evil dog owner was open earlier, I went over there because the puppy was out of the yard and out in front of the white, people-gate between the house and the garage. The wind blew the gate open. Apparently, it doesn’t have a lock of any kind.

I found the pup out front under a derelict truck, it was afraid of me but when I opened it’s gate it came out and ran into the backyard. I let him sniff my fingers, but then he began to growl at me. It’s a pit bull, no collar on.

I locked the gate, went to the side of the house and found a stick to wedge against that gate, walked home. When I looked back from our back deck the gate was open again. Bob told me to not go back, let the dog find it’s fate and the owner learn a lesson. So, there it stands for now. čśŽ
