I Got the Drones Pal

I Got the Drones Pal

Almost nine months after President Obama admitted that “we don’t have a strategy yet” to challenge the Islamic State — and just days after he said he still has “no complete Iraq strategy” — the non-strategy suddenly has a name: escalation.

According to reports in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, the Obama administration is poised to send 400 to 500 additional troops to Iraq immediately, and to build a new U.S. military base in restive Anbar province to house them — and potentially many more.

These troops would not be limited to the officially narrow training mission of the 3,100 U.S. troops already on the ground in Iraq. They would still be considered trainers and advisers, but their mission, according to the Times, would be “to help Iraqi forces retake the city of Ramadi and repel the Islamic State.”

The escalation isn’t exactly the massive deployment of ground troops called for by some hawks in Congress and by neo-conservative commentators, who continue to blame the rise of the Islamic State on Obama’s earlier withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq — rather than on George W. Bush’s initial invasion and occupation of the country, which actually led to the creation of the group in 2004.

But the Journal still recognized that “the new plan is a marked if modest expansion of the U.S. military role in Iraq. It would expose American forces to greater risk of being drawn into direct combat with Islamic State forces that already control territory around likely sites for a planned U.S. training base.”

More tombstones for the hapless volunteer soldiers while stoking the corporate profit furnace to ‘fast track’ his phoney toughness into the limelight for praise, look, rabbit hole ahead Alice! I swear we have gone this way before!

Deja vu, here we go again more war, but like I said above the corporate masters are happy and that is all that really counts, right?

If it was not for these wars of choice our economy would be in the tank, drowned.

Obomber will do what he does best, call in the drone strikes and kill more people we do not know along with their children because in his world as well as Israehells, they don’t matter.

We are a lot alike, Israehell and us, both insist on total domination of the region despite the peoples concerns, since we opened the ISIS Pandora box we have an excuse to continue pummeling the region with bombs and bodies of our volunteer cannon fodder.

Put down your I Pads and Smartphones, shut off your TeeVees and smell the coffee,
    it’s burnt.

Humid, humid, HUMID! Egads! And it rained again, more of a drizzle all day. Rained overnight though.

I went to town, hoping I’d be able to get some mowing done today. No sooner was I in the house with the groceries than it started to do the drizzle thing. That did it, no mowing and the grass is getting VERY tall.

Still no mosquitoes, but I’m sure they’ll be showing up what with all the wet weather and humidity we’ve had.

I also have a few more flowers to plant, that will still have to wait. Dirt too wet to pull weeds.
