Wednesday Withdrawal

Canadian Liberal prime minister designate Justin Trudeau has confirmed that Canada will withdraw its fighter jets from the US-led mission against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

In his first news conference following the sweeping majority Liberal victory in Canada’s federal election, the visibly fatigued leader said he had spoken with US president Barack Obama in a phone call during which he discussed his intention to pull Canada’s fighter jets out of the anti-Isis campaign.

“I committed that we would continue to engage in a responsible way that understands how important Canada’s role is to play in the fight against Isil, but he understands the commitments I’ve made about ending the combat mission,” Trudeau said.

He did not set out a timeline for the withdrawal. Canada currently has six CF-18 fighter jets taking part in the US-led bombing campaign. They were due to remain in the region until March 2016.

So far, every DWF post has appeared in my news feed.

YAY! Canada tossed Harper out. That man, a republican creep, kind of like ours here, had power for 10 years. More than enough time to screw everything up. I hope Trudeau can undo a lot of it, but….seems once things are ruined, they stay that way. If there was a list of every bad thing George W. did while in office, I bet Obama hasn’t undone much of it. Tom Tomorrow once ran a list of all the people in government, their jobs, and how Bush got rid of them, putting a conservative nitwit in charge. The list was very, VERY long.

My poor Bob, can’t go to the barber anymore so today I’m his barber. I watched a YouTube of cutting hair with those barber hair clippers. Looked simple enough. I’m going to try to give him a buzz up the back and sides but leave a cute top. Kind of WWIIish, 1930s-ish?

Only one ‘like’ or comment on the anti-intellectual article from yesterday. One of my political friends who absolutely got it.

One of my political friends has high cholesterol, refuses to take statins.

I read not long ago that the medical profession thinks EVERYone should take statins because they do good things for us. Ha! I smelled bribery in that statement from the pharmaceutical companies.
