Subpoena Sunday

After it was revealed that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office is investigating what oil giant ExxonMobil knew about climate change compared to what it told the public and investors, reaction poured in quickly. Politicians, legal and policy experts, industry analysts and environmentalists weighed in on the news and the InsideClimate News investigation that helped bring the topic to light.

The 18-page subpoena delivered by Schneiderman’s staff to the oil company to hand over its climate-related documents and communications came just weeks after InsideClimate News published its investigation into Exxon’s climate research as far back as the 1970s and how it eventually chose instead to sow doubt about that very science by funding denial groups. The Los Angeles Times published a separate investigation that came to the same conclusions.

In kitchen for several hours this morning. Made ham rolls, three salads which means I had to wash and spin lettuce, wash and cut up other veggies that go in the salad. Made meatballs with rice in them, a broth for them to float in and dumped in the cabbage I cooked yesterday. Unstuffed Cabbage that has no red in it, just chicken broth. Pretty damn yummy, I must say. I adore hamburger stuffed with rich, mmm.

Jill and her boyfriend’s son came over this morning to watch a couple episodes of “The Walking Dead.” She was thrilled with the ham rolls, one of her favorites.

Kitchen cleaned up, Bob had a bath, bed stripped and ready for clean sheets….maybe we’ll watch a movie in a little while. We have the new “Mad Max.”

My best friend’s daughter-in-law is not too bright. She may be a nurse, but that’s all she knows. She always reacts to memes I post on Facebook. To the religious ones, and the gun ones. Last night she chimed in over a study about racism that I posted. WHY do people study these things, she wailed? They just keep racism alive. It’s all I can do to keep a civil tongue in my fingers, I want to reach through the internet and strangle her half the time over her stupidity. Fortunately, I try to just point out facts and not get emotional. I have political friends who sometimes take care of her and I make sure I do NOT click “like” on their harangues, especially if they get mean to her. I love Facebook!

@ the Hillside Cafe after a Washington Idaho Symphony concert featuring the finest pianist I have ever heard, live or recording.

Alice had taken my earlier suggestion to audition for a place in the orchestra. Indeed, she is 2nd oboist this 2015–2016 season. At the intermission I went up on the stage to congratulate her. Even shook her hand.

Later in the intermission I made a new friend, the sophomore cellist and singer in the audition chorus, Keadrin Dick. Oh yes, she is also an RA for a dorm floor.

Finally, there is corn on the cob for dinner tonight. 🙂

Congratulations Alice! One must not waste talent nor keep it from the World. Good Luck!

Rained. Someone left the waste from their takeaway in my carport for me to pick up. 😦

Don’t know if N Californians remember Ralph Williams and his dog Storm, but this is classic:
