Thursday Terror House

The next president of the United States will confront a virulent jihadist threat, mounting effects of climate change, and an economy becoming ever more unequal.

We’re going to need an especially wise and able leader.

Yet our process for choosing that person is a circus, and several leading candidates are clowns.

How have we come to this?

First, anyone with enough ego and money can now run for president.

This wasn’t always the case. Political parties used to sift through possible candidates and winnow the field.

Now the parties play almost no role. Anyone with some very wealthy friends can set up a Super PAC. According to a recent New York Times investigation, half the money to finance the 2016 election so far has come from just 158 families.

Or if you’re a billionaire, you can finance your own campaign.

The old email address’s are gone,

Use the same address when signing on from smartphones, laptops, networks, whatever to comment here, choose one and use it.

A thoughtful citizen passed on to the landlord that I was sleeping in the
Tin Palace which is strictly verboten.

Living in the tin would result in a 30 day eviction notice, das boot!

Supposedly it involved my van which spends it’s time parked out front, like I actually use it?
Battery disconnected, it remains a yard ornament. Might be a BS story to get me to hang up and go away also.

I figure it’s the diesel monkeys next door trying to gas me out in a multi-headed approach, wait, they are not smart enough, *cough*

Jill’s Brian came this morning to try to wrap up his work on our bathroom. After all the major stuff was done, he devoted himself this summer to his other jobs out there, I had to wait. Today was the day.

At some point he bought the molding, he stained it walnut at 6:30 a.m. He put it up when he got here, painted the ceiling, put up the towel racks, had to mud a corner which now someone will have to paint, and a couple other minor things. One last project after the few minor things, a new roof on our little barn.

Quincy was here, he went nuts with the sounds Brian made, like with his nail gun. Poor, Q.
