President Obama still has a year left in his presidency, but it seems members of his administration, past and present, already are getting a bit nostalgic.
In honor of the president’s final State of the Union address on Tuesday, the White House has asked President Obama’s former staffers to add context to past speeches using the online annotation platform Genius. The notes, on the White House’s website now, feature anecdotes such as what it was like for Jon Favreau to stare down a blank computer screen before writing the president’s first State of the Union address. While the contributions will be heavily curated, members of the public are encouraged to add annotations as well.
The goal of this unusual partnership, says White House digital director Jason Goldman, is to “meet people where they are.”
“Americans generally have a broad media diet,” Goldman says. “We thought of Genius as an ideal platform to add additional color and additional content to the State of the Union from previous years.”
State of … not so good.
This morning both feet hurt, right much more than left. There is a skeen of new snow and so poles would slide around. Unless I took off the rubber feet. If my feet feel better later maybe I’ll try it.

Yesterdays comment said you were wearing your parka indoors hence the turn up the heat comment, Advil will not harm you unless you take it without food or longer than 2 weeks.

Last night there was freezing fog, 98% relative humidity. The house wasn’t cold, just me from going out to smoke. Why waste by turning up the heat when the down parka is actually more comfortable?

Just a suggestion, and by the way for a person so concerned for drug side effects how about the side effects of smoking? Huh?

Doesn’t mean you can’t quit. I don’t know how much you smoke but I started younger, age 13, and was smoking 3 packs a day in 2007 when I quit cold turkey. It IS possible. I’m soooo happy I did that. To get that damn, expensive monkey off my back…..so relieved. Wish I could have made myself do it sooner, but it’s a hard habit to make your mind up to quit.

Woke up to snow on the ground. Probably not more than 3 inches, and lots of wind. Lots of bird action at my feeders all day. They’d kind of disappeared for a few days, but let bad weather show up and back they come.

Jill and Brian are going on a week’s vacation to the Dominican Republic this week. Quincy will stay with grandma from the 13th until the 23rd. I hate when my kids go somewhere on a plane. REALLY hate it when Jill & Brian went to Mexico. Now this. Ugh.

Sopa de camorones.
Not sure lying down with elevated feet helped. Drank some sour cherry juice. Didn’t help at least right away. The left foot is back to normal and the right one fits into the boot with some effort. Maybe a half hour later than yesterday.
But no stick walking today.
