Gladyes Williamson paced the halls of Congress on Wednesday, armed with a bottle of brown water and clumps of her own hair.
She’d traveled with a group from Flint, Michigan, where high lead levels have made the water irritating to the skin and unsafe to drink since 2014. Williamson trekked 14 hours on a packed bus, with no sleep, to remind Washington of what’s happening in a poor, embattled, industrial town nearly 75 miles north of Detroit.
“Not only do we feel like the Republicans hate us, but now that the Democrats don’t care either,” Williams, 62, told The Huffington Post. “We just need something tangible to make us believe that politicians care about us. The wards in Flint haven’t seen any of this federal aid, but we do all the tax paying and all the dying.”
Maybe if the DOD would quit pissing money away in wars of choice we would have enough to properly maintain our infrastructure.
I blame the greedy $MoneyPigs$ and dunderhead voters for this mess.

Expecting cuts in other areas to pay for MI aid is a typical Pugger ploy.
Yea we can cut, the DOD!

I was listening to NPR radio in the car this morning. The water bill problem: the city, or whoever, is going to not make residents pay for water they drink and cook with. However, they won’t cover the water residents use to bathe, wash clothes and water lawns with.
Hmm. How will they figure out the split?

Never had anything from a Popeye’s in my life. Do we even have them in Michigan? I should google that. We’re not people who eat out much, so we’ve missed out on a lot of restaurants and chains.

Doc, you acquired shorter sticks? I hope that was the first time you mentioned it, I don’t want to have missed something.

My sticks are of ajustable length. Earlier I mentioned one had slipped shorter. That length seems better so I shortened the other.
By the way, there are now two others in Pullman using a pair of walking sticks. Recommended exercise.

There are 17 McDonald’s scattered around Lansing. Well, you can see why we’ve never had a Popeye’s anything.
