Dinosaur Tuesday

Dinosaurs were in decline long before the asteroid struck that spelt their doom, new research suggests.

Dinosaurs were on the up and up from the late Triassic about 220m years ago, with new species arising faster than others went extinct. But the study reveals their fortunes had begun to change long before the catastrophic six-mile-wide asteroid hit what is now the Gulf of Mexico, 66m years ago.

“One of the things that has been long debated about dinosaur evolution is whether they were reigning strong right up until the time of the meteorite impact, or whether there was a slow, gradual decrease in [the emergence of new species] or an increase in extinction before that time,” said Chris Venditti, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Reading and an author of the paper.

Maybe Dinosaur farts created too much Methane in the atmosphere?
They were really big and a gaseous expulsion could have been a minor wind event sending smaller creatures off in the weeds.

North Grand water line broke. I have muddy water with lots of air and pressure. Probably some businesses were flooded.

Cool here today, no sun, will have to don a coat when I go out in a few minutes.

Love the dinosaur in the picture. I’ll imagine one popping out of the cornfield behind our house later and scare myself, lol.

Had the mammogram today, ouch. Another test down, one to go, the colonoscopy.

Called my doctor’s office to see if they got the results of my blood test, I still have not. Yup, they got it. I asked them to send me a copy. When I had the blood drawn I signed a paper, asking them to mail me a copy. So, who didn’t do their fricking job??? THIS time. Surrounded by incompetence 24/7.

    Heading out now.

Only needed my parka for my walk. I was thinking I should burn the trash, but I didn’t. It drizzled today, but not enough rain lately. I always worry a spark will start the cornfield on fire? The older I get, the more I worry about things like sparks, lol. Jill says I need Prozac.

Home from the orchestra concert. The concluding piece was Pictures at an Exhibition with orchestration by Ravel. More colorful than the Rimsky-Korsakof orchestration, I had never heard it before and the RK version only on records. The whole concert was pleasing as could be.
