Thoughtful Thursday

An interesting question is, what are you waiting for?

Global warming is the biggest problem we’ve ever faced as a civilization — certainly you want to act to slow it down, but perhaps you’ve been waiting for just the right moment.

The moment when, oh, marine biologists across the Pacific begin weeping in their scuba masks as they dive on reefs bleached of life in a matter of days. The moment when drought in India gets deep enough that there are armed guards on dams to prevent the theft of water. The moment when we record the hottest month ever measured on the planet, and then smash that record the next month, and then smash that record the next month? The moment when scientists reassessing the stability of the Antarctic ice sheet have what one calls an ‘OMG moment’ and start talking about massive sea level rise in the next 30 years?

That would be this moment – the moment when 135 children have drowned in Thailand trying to cool off from the worst heatwave on record there. The moment when, in a matter of months, we’ve recorded the highest wind-speeds ever measured in the western and southern hemispheres.

    I’m in slo-mo this AM.

BIG Pharma done dood it to me again, this time dizzyness.
There was a a time when dizziness would be part of a good buzz but for a geezer sliding downhill, not so much.

The sharp pains have subsided, left with a stuffed-up ear and dizzy.

Is there anything medical science can do for you other than taking that drug? Is there a surgery?

I forgot to take my second blood pressure pill last night. Now I put the bottle on the counter right by the sink where I’m sure to go every night. THAT will remind me.

Yup. Luckily for me I have experience in that area having consumed large amounts of beer and whiskey in the distant past, tipsy ain’t nothing new here.

Went to the lunch at 1:00. Had two Margaritas. Now I hate the way my head feels, but it’s almost Beer-30, that ought to fix me up, lol.

Reading comments on articles in the Detroit Free Press is so painful. Detroit’s suburbs are awash in racists. The George Zimmerman gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin, I just KNEW comments would be sickening. The racists are sure Trayvon deserved it for attacking Zimmerman. I read the comments because I can’t help myself.

One guy eloquently explained the crime and the idiots laughed at him, didn’t try to understand anything. Typical.

Up Valley Road and left on Brandi Way to Terre View Drive. Left on Terre View Drive to the bridge, loop down to the Missouri Flat Creek trail and thence home. 59 minutes and a few birds sighted. Also saw the construction on the north side of Terre View Drive.

    Day 5: 45+59=104 minutes.
