Rogue Capybara Wednesday

1a

Toronto police, zookeepers, and residents are on the alert after two rodents of unusual size escaped from a local zoo early Tuesday.

The pair of capybara – canine-sized, amphibious rodents which resemble guinea pigs but are much, much bigger – are being sought by 30 park and zoo workers in Toronto’s 399-acre High Park, according to the Toronto Sun.

Residents have been warned not to approach the animals, which were described by zoo volunteers as “quite shy”, but to call the park authorities.

150lbs big, glad they are non aggressive.

When I was living in Mpls MN, I had a Marmot in the yard, large rodent also, 18″ tall sitting, non aggressive also.

Up to the TVD bridge and back in 48 minutes. Missouri Flat Creek is almost invisible in the tall bunchgrass. A snake out sunning on the trail.

    Day 4: 173+48=221 minutes.

Natasha drove by in her blue VW beetle as I was walking down Stadium Way on my way to the pizza parlor. She said “Hi, Gandalf!” so I waved. I suppose she saw in the rear view mirror as there was a quick wave back or else it was a strange left turn signal. With Natasha one cannot be certain.

Anyway, she did turn left into the parking lot there and parked in the Starbucks part and proceeded directly to the door. At which point I noticed that it is Natasha’s blue VW beetle which suffered a strange accident, or three, as the rear window is broken, and all the framing removed. From earlier inspections there is a crack all the way across the front windscreen. This time I noticed a strange dent in the left rear quarter panel, low down right behind the door, which is not damaged.

Now I always thought that Natasha was dangerous, but before this only for men.

At 21, she is more beautiful than ever.

Pretty damn warm here today. Every window open, sweat band on my head. Bob, Diane and I figured we could live without putting the A/C on.

Tomorrow is Diane’s last day here. 😦
