Sunday Soup

Badly dressed Trump supporter.

Two visitors to an upstate Mexican eatery this weekend just wanted to exercise their right to eat enchiladas, but were allegedly told to leave the restaurant for being Trump supporters. Esther Levy and dining companion Alvin Goldstein claim that a waitress at Cancun Inn Restaurant in Sugar Loaf, NY told them they needed to go shortly after ordering a round of sangrias, the Post reports. Levy claims her “Make America Great Again” hat and Donald Trump button attire precipitated the ousting.

“On the way out, the co-owner decided to yell at me and humiliate me,” Levy told the tabloid. “He said, ‘We don’t serve Trump supporters here. Get out of here and never come back.'” Goldstein further claims that he and the unnamed co-owner exchanged verbal spars over who would win the election in November. “I certainly won’t be back there,” he promised. “It was horrific what happened. I’m not used to being thrown out of restaurants.”

The restaurant paints a very different picture of the alleged incident. In a posting on their Facebook page, a man claiming to be the son of one of the owners posted a statement claiming the would-be diners were asked to leave because “they were being rude to the staff and rowdy due to intoxication.” The restaurant says they’ve never discriminated against anyone and that they’ll be looking into the incident further.

It looks like the restaurant built it’s own wall to keep out Frumpies, tsk, tsk, tsk.

TVD return in 45 minutes again. Flocks of little birds eating grass seeds which fell on the path. Larry the Robin on his usually telephone with perch. When the hawk arrived on a tall tree perch a flock behind me flew right overhead to shelter in the dense foliage of a tree by the creek. Two larger birds seem to have hidden themselves in the tall bunchgrass. Futher on there was the junior rabbit, noticeably grown already. A bit further on momma rabbit was on the other side of the path.

My daughter, Jill, has a red-tailed hawk couple nesting in a tree along her driveway. Driveway is half a mile long, lol. I’ve not been able to spot the tree.

Well, Bob’s sister and husband came out, dinner went over well. Pete & Jill and Pete’s wife and son came, too. I think I mentioned I was going to make Kathy’s mom’s recipe for Hungarian Chicken Paprikas. They stayed a little over 3 hours. Bob and Kathy got to talk for awhile the ice broken, they mostly compared health problems with Kathy trying to figure out what may be genetic for them.

Pete, Sara and Nicholas went in the pool after Kathy & Ron left and Sara vacuumed the bottom for me. HOORAY! Pool is finally clean, the vacuuming easy now that the pool has been cleaned of the winter junk. Most definitely getting a winter cover for it this year, about time. Come spring I won’t have a bunch of dirt and leaves piled up on the bottom.

Bought a potato at the store today, got it home and wow, it’s eyes looked odd.
