Wednesday’s Woes

In a little under five months, President Barack Obama will no longer be the president of the United States, and so that is why, for this last month and for the next five months, he is going to do nothing, other than push the TPP onto the American public. A lot of reports have come out in the last day or two that show that Obama is out there, and he has planned 30 events during this congressional recess through the month of August, where he is going to pitch the TPP to the American people. He’s telling us that his arguments are correct on this. This is his legacy. This is the best thing for the American public.

Unfortunately, it seems that President Obama is the only one who actually believes that, other than corporations because that’s all the TPP is. It is a massive giveaway to corporations that want to rip off consumers, or destroy the environment, or pillage our natural resources. That’s all this deal will do. It’s going to drive down American wages and leave us with no economic mobility whatsoever.

We see how it goes with NAFTA. Don’t want no more of it.

Birch & Barley after 47 minutes, slow. Some dinosaurs perched on the telephone wires.

And home by the same route for a total of 101 minutes; even slower on the return, struggled with the College Hill Climb and Maple Street Extension. Also my upper arms and between the shoulder blades are noticeable; what happens after laying off for 6 days.

        Day 4: 25+101=125 minutes.

I woke up at 8:00 a.m., heard trucks out front, I got dressed, brushed teeth, grabbed camera, got tractor and drove down to the road to see the big machine that breaks up, chews up and spits out the old asphalt. Holy cow, our side of the road was already done and covered in new asphalt, all I got pictures of are the two big rollers ironing it out.

A female worker was walking my way and we chatted. I told her I wanted to see that machine, she said I would when they came back on the other side. She even offered to walk up to the house to knock to let me know they were there. I told her I would catch it because I would hear them this time.

She said the machine is something, has 48 teeth, said some other things I’ve forgotten, and she said it’s cute. Then she laughed and said she shouldn’t say it’s cute, the guys hate it went she describes it as cute, lol. She was a sweetheart to talk to.

They didn’t make it back this way, hope they don’t get here while I’m still sleeping. I REALLY want to see that machine.

When Brian came over to pick Quincy up he told me that Swan Road the next one over, is done and it’s awful. The broken up old asphalt is under the new asphalt and the road is bumpy. He talked to a girl over there and she said it was done, they only had to put a coating on it. He said it’s really bad, like it is when you’re driving your lawn tractor over your laws, bumpity, bumpity, bump.

I told him they were NOT done, another layer of asphalt was going down and I showed him our road commission letter where they explained the process. He was relieved.

I mowed the place next door, and our front piece. Could only do so much of the ditches because of the trench at the top and mounds of dirt, and the road signs standing in the ditches.

Grass growing like mad now thanks to all the rain we’ve had. Everything lushly green again. My trails next door looked horrible in just 3 days, now they’re perfect again. Can’t wait for my Beer-30 walk.

Trump was just in Dimondale by Lansing, now I read he’s coming back to speak to Detroiters, to try to get the black vote. Well, HA! Wasting your time, Donald. In the 2008 election Detroit voted 97% for Obama, and in 2012 they voted 98% for Obama. Plus it looks like we’ll have our straight-ticket voting still intact in November. Judges have told our asshole Attorney General that getting rid of it is clearly meant to make it harder for black people to vote.

So, if black people vote straight-ticket more than anyone else, Trump won’t have a chance.
