Then it was time, and the women silently formed into a steam that would pass through the camps and onto the bridge. Moondrop said, “it was so powerful to feel the men so willing to step back and support us and stand behind us.” People silently joined them as they walked through both Rosebud and Oceti camps and the stream of women became a river. They met resistance from the council of young men who weren’t aware of what was happening, but Cheryl Angel had approval from the grandma elder, and ‘the feminine walked forth’, continuing. Another dam of male veterans resisted the woman again at the bridge, but they looked them silently in the eyes and conveyed that it was time to let the women lead, to trust them. LaDonna, the woman who started Standing Rock’s opposition to DAPL, joined at this time and Moondrop knew they were now unstoppable. The veterans acquiesced and helped by asking the Army Corps if the women could come to the front and do a ceremony. With thousands of people behind them in total silence, the elder women walked across the bridge through the former war zone, through broken glass, shells, dried blood and teargas-soaked clothing; to the edge of the razor wire where they knelt. They offered forgiveness, wept for the atrocities, wept for their ancestors, prayed for the hearts of the police, and begged for their compassion. “It was the most beautiful moment of my life to witness these women being so vulnerable in the face of armed guards with guns and tanks on the other side of a razor wire fence and to witness them so open and humble and weak, but so strong in their vulnerability. “It was like a radiative, thick blanket of peace washing over everything,” Moondrop recounted. A police officer offered to safely guide the elders down to the river to perform a water ceremony. It was the first time anyone had been allowed on the other side of the river. Afterwards, the supporting men back on the hill parted for the returning river of women who silently lead everyone back to camp. Moondrop felt like it was the rise of a matriarchy and the rise of women finding their voice and their power to create a peaceful outcome here. She could feel everyone’s thankfulness as they reentered camp. As she finished her story, I was struck by how much sense it makes to enact change in this peaceful, compassionate and feminine way. When fear is released, walls can come down and understanding can take place. I myself am extremely thankful to these women for leading the charge.

I let the owners know about her behavior today and thanked them for motivating her to do something beyond sitting on my issue for 6 months. I could definitely do her job, processing rent checks and handling issues like this, would need a golf cart to get around with tho, stupid RA pain.

Then to Shopko for a running total of 60 minutes. They didn’t have the pills for my prescription so I hafta go back tomorrow, in the miserable weather predicted. Back home the same route for a total of 122 minutes. Fingernipping by the time I was nearing the College Hill Climb.

Do any of you DWFers remember Tim Kane, from back in the day? Arianna? David Corn? I don’t recall when we first connected…but waaaaaaay back.

I got a lengthy email from him this morning. He’s returning from South Korea at the end of the month, where he taught American Law at a university there. HIs story was compelling and a real eye-opener!

Speaking of Krugman, he mentioned him and how Krugman seems to have now ignored his own message in his book “Conscience of a Liberal.” I totally agree.

Well you know it’s a good day on FB when one guy tells me to “go fuck myself” and his wife calls me a “turd”, sorry Carol did not mean to upset the group-think there, I was compelsed.

      It’s funny, Den,

OMG! SOMETHING JUST SLID DOWN THE ROOF AND SCARED ME!!! We had rain that froze today, probably ice on the roof formed, the house is warmed up from the furnace, and it let go. But STILL….! I get spooked easily when Bob isn’t here.

As I was saying, it’s funny, Den, that an argument can break out among my liberal friends. I KNEW I shouldn’t have posted that meme because I got in trouble once before for something similar to that. Other than what that caused, we all get along very well.

The thing is, I can agree with Mike and his wife, the ones who overreacted, but I can also see the other side of it all and they can’t. Bottom line, big deal. They made a mountain out of a molehill.

Mike is the kind of guy that doesn’t seem to care what he says. He’s one of my favorites when he goes after certain people, certain subjects. He’ll call them every name in the book and I cringe while secretly enjoying the scene. I used to love watching him tear into the Christians on the Lansing State Journal, and a couple times on FB, too. He’s very smart, great arguments, a studious guy.

I hated seeing two of the people I like and admire get mad at each other, but oh well. It was my fault for posting that stupid meme when I KNEW it would cause trouble.

Didn’t go see Bob today, it started to rain and there was a weather alert to ice on the roads. When I walked outside a couple hours later to put some trash in the garage, I had to be careful and I had to salt my way back to the house.

Bob told everyone he’s ready to go home, he hopes they told the powers-that-be to start cutting him loose. Tomorrow starts the $150 a day out of our pocket.

Trump has won the biggest lotto in history. He is at the peak of where any human could be and he is NOT happy. He seems like a miserable, pouty jerk, constantly needing to put people down, start arguments and look for ways to hurt everyone, and to scare the world silly. WHY IS HE NOT HAPPY???

Other than the obvious: that he is mentally ill. I have visions of him being dragged out of the White House in a straight jacket, screaming curses at everyone around him, spittle running down his chin, eyes bulging.
