Head-Exploding News – MARK FIORE
Good news! The Terror Tree is going away today, yay!
In response to yesterday…
By your reports, Dr. B, you don’t seem to have “excessive” tiredness…but…
“….Could your excessive tiredness be caused by your cholesterol medication? A study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health links cholesterol-lowering drugs like simvastatin (Zocor) and pravastatin (Pravachol) to excessive tiredness and fatigue.
In what is thought to be the first randomized study to look at such adverse effects with statins, the research group led by Dr. Beatrice Golomb of the University of California, San Diego, found that moderate doses of these drugs contribute to statistically significant decreases in energy and increases in fatigue on exertion….”
It’s my opinion that statins are over-prescribed. And, they do cause fatigue, pain, and decrease in quality of life. Maybe you take them because you smoke?
The tired feeling was shared by several this week now ending. I attribute it to the end of the toughest winter in all my 47 years in Pullman. Today I feel fine.
The doctor prescribed simvastatin after my mild heart attack about a year ago. There was some minor problem adjusting to it but since I exercise lots the effects were soon gone.
Ain’t no guarantees in life…EKGs for commercial pilots start at age 35.
William “Mike” Grubbs, a 58-year-old Dallas-based pilot, died Wednesday while American Airlines Flight 1353 was on approach to Albuquerque, New Mexico from Dallas-Forth Worth.
March came in like a lamb, proceeded to spill several lion’s worth of rain, and is leaving like a lamb, shorn of all ambition.
Even not hurrying but 13 minutes to the Hillside Cafe. Where I took too much food.
After the overly large, unfinishable lunch stick walked to the library to renew books and then by a new route to the back of Elwood’s house and down his long, winding path in front to the B Street sidewalk; thence home. Daily total is 44 minutes.
Day 6: 214+44=258 minutes.
Lovely day out but no birds and the neighborhood rabbit wasn’t where I could see him.
Here is a matter which I hope you will write to your congesscritters about:
Current federal law stems from J. Edgar Hoover’s hatred of Mexicans.
A word about statins, they are dangerous! I went through a living HELL withdrawing from them after noticing muscle pains without reason, statins build up in muscle tissue after a few years and if taken long enough will damage the muscles if you have not taken the HINT by then.
Yes I took Simvistatin, Lipitor and one other I forgot, heart attack here @58 so they put me on those evil pills, I quit them in Nov 2015 and it took until Feb 2016 for the excruciating muscle pain to cease in all my muscles. COq10 is a must-take during withdrawal, Google it if you think I am wrong.
I strongly recommend Colestipol as an alternative as it stays in your digestive system not your whole body and pulls out the Cholesterol there, big pills but slippery so they slide down easy.
Simvastatin has been giving me leg cramps. Just started fish oil again, hope it also helps with the eczema.
I would change laundry detergents if you have not already done so to hypo-allergenic like Ivory and check out Coconut oil.
Worth a try
My brother uses some kind of weird soap that smells like pine tar for eczema — says it works like a charm, and he doesn’t give off an odor of a doused forest fire. 😉 Granpda something-or-other…don’t recall the name.
Grandpa’s Wonder Pine Tar Soap
Maybe. Soaps seem to be an irritant, and hot water (as opposed to lukewarm) is a no go.
Thanks for the advice!
Another fine mess!
