Sinkhole Saturday

President Donald Trump insulted Haiti during an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers, but he once signed off on a shady real estate deal with the nation’s ousted dictator.

More than a fifth of Trump’s condominiums in the U.S. have been purchased since the 1980s in secretive cash transactions that fit a Treasury Department definition of suspicious transactions, reported Buzzfeed News.

Records show more than 1,300 Trump condos were purchased through shell companies, which allow buyers to shield their finances and identities, and without a mortgage, which protects buyers from lender inquiries.

Those two characteristics raise alarms about possible money laundering, according to statements issued in recent months by the Department of Treasury, which has investigated transactions just like those all over the country.

So, 52 minutes to Shopko for a prescription refill, then on to the Birch & Barley after 82 minutes of stick walking from the house. No flying birds, just a resting flock of pigeons. Clouds are breaking up.

Home the shortest route totals 125 minutes. My feet know it.

Day 7: 365+125=490 minutes, not shabby for a week in winter.

I got to eat out again today!!! Jill and Brian dragged me with them, went to Howell and had lunch with Brian’s parents. Also hit a department store so Brian could spend his gift card from his parents, which they gave to him last June on his birthday.

Brian’s mom is going on a trip, to Ethiopia. The family are Christians. Brian’s sister and brother-in-law lived in Thailand for something like 10 years. I wonder if their 3 kids were born there. I’ll have to remember to ask Jill.

I never said a word to Brian’s mom about her trip. I know it has to do with missionary work so since I have zero to say about such bullshit, I just kept quiet.

The cold is back. Did I tell you I changed the batteries in my weather thing out on the pool deck? Now the read-out in the house is working, THANK goodness. Now I know how cold it is and how hard the winds are blowing.

The ice is still out there, I’m ignoring it.

It hit 61 here today, rain back here Monday or so, there is significant moisture coming our way off and on for the next week or so to keep things damp. Midwest has been getting hammered pretty good, my MN days have stories to tell about cold and snow, yuck.

It snowed and drifted so bad my 1970 Camaro could only be located by the 2 inches of radio antenna sticking through the snow, after an hour digging it out with my tractor, I still had 500 feet of driveway to dig out too, I worked all day on the tractor and got a skinny path out to the road. absurd place to live in the winter.

Like mine with lot smaller bucket than I had:
