Just 13 minutes to the Hillside Cafe for another salmon dinner. Sidewalks all cleared of snow although a little graupel fell while I was stick walking.

My friend in Oaxaca just phoned me…to reassure me she was alright…then the connection went dead. I will assume it was a fluke in timing, rather than something gone awry. But, I can’t call her back.

I am not Geologist but it doesn’t take a Geologist to know that along a major known fault line, the San Andreas, from Alaska to Mexico with the large spaces between earthquake activity, from Kodiak down to Washington, nada, nothing, zilch, while both ends are moving, there is a turd stuck in the Earth’s crust in a plate that it is hung up on and will release at some point. When it does it will shake real good and might follow the fault all the way to Mexico. I like to see constant small quakes along faults, slow adjustments vs the big jerkers.

It is no longer a matter of ‘if’ but when, I think soon.

The San Andreas is a transverse fault with the north end off Cape Mendocino. North of there is the Cascadia Subduction Zone, prone to much larger earthquakes, but also giving rise to the volcanoes from Mt. Lassen in the south to Glacier Peak in the north.

I don’t know the geology south of the Gulf of California to say, but somewhere down that way the transverse fault ends and there is another subduction zone, all the way to the southern end of South America.

Wherever there are volcanoes there is a subduction zone. Well, that is true for the west coast of the Americas, although not everywhere; there are local hotspots.

Anyway, from central Mexico south through Nicaragua there is a subduction zone. I don’t know about south of there until Chile…

I read that Melania went separately to the air plane, shunning Donald over a second affair coming out, I guess.

      Poor, Donald, a walking “disaster.”

You heard my explanation on how hard it was to convert red-faced Satan to a white boy, the red color wouldn’t come out all the way hence the cheeto face right?
