Wobble, wobble — the real reason we should pay attention is in the summation paragraphs.

Down to 7° right now, and windy but not as windy as last night. I had to pick up branches on the driveway but they blew off the pile I had started for my tree people to grind come spring. There are branches down everywhere out on the property. I’ll be getting some exercise this spring.

Somehow the fact that 184,000 customers in Michigan lost power, some until late Sunday, made the Washington state news.

I watched the Whitaker hearing all afternoon. Why can’t anyone, even when told over and over and over to just say yes, or no, say yes or no? Whitaker started off with every new congressman, “Congressman, thank you for the question.” I was glad when he stopped thanking them for the damn question. Near the end of the afternoon he wasn’t starting every answer with “Congressman,”.

I know his goal was to run the clock out but boy, our Dems were having none of that. Several of the men kept stopping him when he tried to ramble and I LOVED it. The women were good, also not taking any shit from him.

Eric Swalwell from CA was at one end, and when it was his turn to ask questions, a republican thug from the other end who was vice chair objected. Swalwell hadn’t even finished his question but Thug knew where he was going. Thug was overruled but before that Thug shouted down to the other end something about Swalwell should blah, blah, blah instead of running for president. Swalwell yelled back something about come on over here and take a seat. I hope someone replays that because I know I got it wrong, but I I’m close. I had to back that part up to hear it again, made me laugh.

After a bit of snow overnight, a slow 17 minutes to the Hillside Cafe. On the way a student going downhill informed me that the wind quintet concert has been canceled.
