With Congress mulling legislation to slap new sanctions on Russia for its attack on the 2016 American election, an important Russian bank connected to Vladimir Putin’s government has turned for help to a well-positioned lobbyist in Washington: a Trump insider and former Republican House member named John Sweeney. In August Sweeney signed a whopping contract to lobby on behalf of this bank to stave off sanctions from the US government.
Sweeney, who formerly represented district near Albany, filed paperwork late last month with the Justice Department’s Foreign Agents Registration Act unit to represent Vnesheconombank, known as VEB, a Kremlin-controlled investment bank. The bank’s chair, Igor Shuvalov, was appointed last year by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who gave him orders to increase funding of national development projects.
The filing says that Sweeney will “engage in meetings and other communications with U.S. government officials regarding potential new sanctions legislation…that could affect” the bank.
Looking more like they are trying to make the USA a suburb of Russia.

Earlier some magpies tryed to rob a crow in a tree. Not a peaceful dinner for the crow. Just before arriving at the Hillside Cafe a large murder of crows flew by. Standard 14 minutes.

OK so the computer adjusted itself to Central time but did not adjust back to Pacific time. WordPress adjusted itself similarly and did not adjust back. Two different settings, the one here is the one that counted.

“Journalist Cokie Roberts died on Tuesday and President Donald Trump didn’t hesitate to make her passing all about himself.
Per CNN’s Daniel Dale, Trump was asked by reporters if he had a comment about Roberts’ death at the age of 75 this week, and he responded by complaining that she didn’t give him favorable coverage.
“I never met her,” the president replied. “She never treated me nicely. But I would like to wish her family well. She was a professional and I respect professionals… never treated me well, but I certainly respect her as a professional.”

It’s amazing how much I hate that man. Never felt such revulsion about anyone in my entire life like I do THAT POS. Every time I see his mug on TV I imagine punching him in the face.

Last day for dog watching tomorrow. They should be home around 3:00. I’ll be at their house because the dogs eat at 3:00. Can’t wait to see Quincy and Addy’s excitement to see their mom after 18 days. Addy is crazy about Brian, Quincy is a mama’s boy. Overjoyed, they will be leaping into the air, overjoyed. (me, too, my job thankfully over)
