Double Blow Monday

A second whistleblower has come forward with first-hand knowledge of President Donald Trump’s attempts to get the Ukrainian president to investigate a political rival, lawyers for the official said on Sunday.

Lawyer Mark Zaid said the person, also an intelligence official, has direct knowledge of some of the allegations involving the initial whistleblower complaint, which triggered impeachment proceedings against the Republican president.

The emergence of a second protected witness complicates efforts by Trump and his Republican supporters to dismiss the complaint as politically motivated hearsay and may strengthen the Democrats’ case against him.

The complaint, filed with the inspector general on Aug. 12, cited information received from half a dozen U.S. officials expressing concern that Trump was using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country as he seeks re-election to a second term in 2020.

Micki, do you know David Lewis? If not, recommend it.

No, I don’t know him. But, at your recommend I searched his name…turns out I had “heard of him” 😊

I ask, what prompts you to recommend?

    Interesting fellow, for certain!

DUTERTE HAS AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE??? This reminds me of how happy I was the day the news said Scalia had died. Now I have to hope his “autoimmune disease” blossoms!

He’s 74. I’m 74, I’ve noticed a few famous people died recently…at 74. An opera singer for one, can’t remember who else I stumbled on.

Compared to Duterte…oh, and the opera singer, I’m doing VERY well. *knock on wood*

I still have pruning and weeding to do outside. And while it took 4 different times, I finished vacuuming the rafters in the basement, and everywhere else down there. Bet Duterte has never weeded or pruned anything, OR vacuumed the cobwebs out of a room, so HA!

Neighbors to the NW now have 2 large and 3 tiny pumpkins. Neighbor on Michigan Street carved WSU into one of theirs. Big wind hasn’t arrived during the 15 minute stick walk to the north door of the Hillside Cafe.

Since you gave no clue as to David Lewis’ locale, I had no idea who you were referring to. When I googled the name, David Lewis the philosopher was top o’ the list. Not a David Lewis in Bellingham. 😉

    A twit from:

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, and my great and unmatched wisdom, considered to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (l’ve done before!). They blah, blah blah, blah bla blah…

…when I saw that tweet yesterday, my first reaction was, invoke the 25th Amendment! He’s “unable” to serve…then I thought (and this is scarier), he didn’t write that, those words (and their correct spelling) are not in his vocabulary. Someone else wrote the tweet. Certainly the bombast is vintage Trumpism.
