Flush the Psychos Saturday

Arisen from the depths of Hell.

The most powerful position in the world’s most powerful nation is occupied by a demented fascist oligarch.

He demonizes and scapegoats minorities and immigrants. He provides dog-whistle cover for white supremacists. He sparks racist hate crimes with his vicious nativist words. He speaks with disdain about inner-city black communities. He tells police officers not to “be too nice” with suspects.

He packs the courts with hard-right racists, classists, sexists and eco-exterminists, toxically reshaping the federal judiciary for a generation. He has cultivated and rewarded Christian fascists, one of whom (Mike Pence) is his vice president.

THAT was a totally depressing read, and a longgggg one, especially when each word was hard to decipher with my poor eyes. It was such a strain reading it, but I’m glad I did.

I’m going to click on the Mayor Pete link in the article later, have to see why he called him a republican. I liked Mayor Pete the first time he opened his mouth, I was impressed, but I also wasn’t born yesterday and have been waiting to find out what’s wrong with him. HAS to be something wrong, he’s too good. I’ve noticed he’s getting a bit of bad press lately although I haven’t bothered to read up on it, just the headlines. I think it was something about taking corporate money, but most politicians do, I guess.

I’m going to go watch a movie, I can’t read anymore. When I’m staring at the big screen, I don’t know how bad my eyes suddenly are.

Now I have to proof read this, ugh. It’s so hard to do.

Ok, proofed it. I think it’s ok. I didn’t like a couple of my sentences, but screw it.

Is Pete Buttigieg Just a Shill for Corporations and the Donor Class?

Why has Buttigieg flipped from being a putative progressive to being perhaps the most conservative, pro-corporate Democrat remaining in the field? A good place to start would be to follow the money.

Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, the fourth-largest town in Indiana, is the shiny new object in the race to become the Democrats’ candidate for president in 2020. Coming from almost nowhere, he’s finished first in several recent Iowa polls.

Superficially, there’s a lot that’s appealing about Mayor Pete: He’s articulate, quick on his feet, can speak in full paragraphs—sometimes in Norwegian—and projects a sense of optimism. But when you scratch below the service, it’s hard to find Buttigieg’s core convictions, and and he now appears to have put himself up for sale to corporate interests.

Forgot I had this article open in a tab to read, it’s been sitting there ALL day. I read the first paragraph and decided to post it here, I’ll finish reading it later. Like I said before, I have to get my eyes off of this computer monitor for awhile. 😦

Another putz around day, hauled out some shop-related stuff, back still touchy, hung up some pictures, slowly unpacking and relocating stuff. Was going to drive back to CA for the annual Demento Thanksgiving but the weather will kibosh that with a storm moving in just in time to screw that up. So I will be on the prowl for local dinners for the fix. It is actually supposed to snow here too.

Ah the foibles during the holidays, I want Summer back.
