Truthout Tuesday

Bunny and Clem fighting off protesters.

President Donald Trump shared a tweet on Monday morning of a white St. Louis couple brandishing and pointing their guns in the direction of protesters against anti-Black racism and police violence who were marching toward the mayor’s office.

While it’s unclear what Trump intended by sharing the post, his past statements against demonstrators who are part of the Movement for Black Lives have prompted news agencies to suggest the president was likely retweeting the video in support of the display of weapons against protesters.

If that is indeed the case, the president could be endorsing an illegal action. According to Missouri state law, it is illegal to exhibit, “in the presence of one or more persons, any weapon readily capable of lethal use in an angry or threatening manner.”

Trimmed up the back door outside, painted today, I am so bad with paint and glue, can figure out machine complexities, but paint and glue watchout! Primer today, putty tomorrow, paint whenever the putty dries, still have to finish the inside trim, putty and paint. Cost me a sheet of plywood and screws.

So the idea is to improve your surroundings a little each day and eventually it might be nicer than you found it with the bonus of staying home out of the virus mainstream.

      What use was the plywood?

Kind of my theory on my walks. Bend over, pull a few weeds here, a few there, pick up a stick if you see it, rearrange a bit of my whimsy if I feel like it, those little bits done on walks add up.

You’re right, Doc, at our age we can sit around if we want to. I’ve always tried to keep moving but getting better at sitting. I mean, besides the time I spend sitting in front of this computer.

Another HUMID day here, A/C has been on since around 2:00. I did sit in a chair on the back deck and cleaned the other two white metal chairs, then sat on one of them and cleaned the 3rd chair. Then I scrubbed 4 of my little dinosaurs in that water. Coated in sand from hanging around in the gardens, but I want to paint them so they had to get cleaned up.

I did dishes, went to town for tractor gas and topped off the car’s tank, took the long way home so I get a bit of driving in. I really want to finish digging my flower bed in front, but too damn hot for that. Might as well not try to kill myself over that job, just wait for a cool day.

Went down to 5½ Prednisones today after a week on the 6. Going to stay on that dose until I see the drug-pushing doctor July 14.

Jill shopping for me tomorrow, will bring over groceries around 9:30 a.m. Pete will be over around the same time so we can go to my pool store for more chlorine, algaecide and PLUS to raise the PH of the water. I need oilers from the bird seed store, AND I need to hit the bank for some cash. Getting low over here and I need that to pay Jill back for my groceries.

Had a shock when I checked out my checking and saving’s account on-line. I forgot I had my MI taxes done so I could get that property tax thing, what’s it called? Homestead something. I got $919 back from the state and there it was, sitting in my checking account. WOO HOO!

Walk time! Remember before I lost Bob? That was also beer-30. I NEVER drink anything but water now on my walks, ever since Bob died. It’s just not fun now. I have a glass of something with dinner in the middle of the afernoon, and that’s it unless it’s Margarita day with Jill.

Of course, I still visit the garage for a few tokes. Haven’t given THAT up yet, lol.
