Just Another Repug Bozo

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) declared his candidacy today to be the Republican standard bearer in the 2016 election.

So what would a Rand Paul presidency look like with regard to Middle East policy? Although Paul has a reputation as a Libertarian non-interventionist, he isn’t actually either one. As he has admitted, he supported the Afghanistan War in 2001.

Let’s take Syria. Sen. Paul was opposed to the planned Obama administration intervention in Syria in fall, 2013 after a unit of the Baath regime was alleged to have deployed chemical weaponry against rebels in Ghouta near Damascus, killing some 1100 people. Paul said that an American intervention would create a “jihadist wonderland.” In part, his opposition had been rooted in a demand that Obama get congressional approval before going in. But even when Obama looked as though he would ask for a congressional vote, Paul remained opposed, unsure that the rebels in Syria, many of them become extremist radicals, would be better for US interests than the government of Bashar al-Assad.

But then a year later when Obama decided to bomb Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) positions at Raqqa in Syria, Rand Paul supported the move. However, he did not approve of the second part of Obama’s strategy, of training pro-Western freedom fighters to take on both Daesh and the al-Assad regime.

I hate clowns. Explains why I hate republicans, a party of clowns.

If that guy gets the nomination, people will actually vote for him. What a country.

@ Swilly’s without the sticks as instead carried tax papers to the preparer. After lunch to the grocery store for more stuff to carry.

Walked down Maple Street which I haven’t done for 1.5 years. Many of the houses have recently been painted the same shade of grey with white trim. One sports a DRA rental agency sign so I suppose all those houses are managed by DRA.

Doc, you should get a bicycle, peddle it all over town. You could knock out 30 miles and not even notice, PLUS you’d get to see the sights. Attach a basket to it for carrying your groceries.

Pullman is all hills. While a bicycle would be good for the legs, stick walking is closer to whole body exercise. But irrespective of form, 150 minutes of moderate exercise is the recommended minimum.

Maybe 55° today, but drizzling a tad off and on. Lots of birdsong, they are happier than clams to be back to the Mayor Ranch. I keep feeding them but they aren’t eating much, which is good. I won’t have to waste money on bird seed, use up what I have.

Done! About 60 minutes of just walking and now 60+ minutes of stick walking: Missouri Flat Creek to Terre View to Merman Drive is 2.2 miles uphill; Merman Drive rapidly descends to the Valley Road playfield and thence down Valley Road to home, might be 0.7 miles. So getting towards 3 mph which is not shabby for a long uphill walk followed by a fast descent.

I was on the local Bozo show when I was perhaps 7. Was one of 3 kids picked to hit a badminton birdie into a barrel to win a gleaming red bike, the coolest thing I had ever seen.

“Tell us where you’re from, little Jimmy”

Eyes blinking furiously, I looked at my Mom in a panic, and she mouths “Westchester”.

” Westchester “, I tell Bozo, though I doubt he gave a damn.

I hit that birdie with the racquet, it flies straight and true…hit’s the rim of the barrel, and bounces outside. I was crushed.
