Ta-ta! Thursday

The car rental giant Enterprise says it has resigned its membership in the American Legislative Exchange Council (Alec), an anti-regulation lobby group that has pushed against climate change legislation, effective immediately. The announcement follows last month’s revelation by the Guardian of the publicly environmentally friendly company’s contributions to the group.

Enterprise is the largest car rental company in the world and owns Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National and Alamo. It has sought recognition for its tree-planting programs, aimed at offsetting carbon emissions, and its increasingly large fleet of clean vehicles.

But association with Alec was too much for many consumers, who told the company on social media and in petitions that they would take their business elsewhere. A petition demanding the company withdraw its support from the lobbyist group had reached 89,000 signatures at the time of writing.

Starting from the corner of Campus Street and Spokane Avenue, just down the hill from the Hillside Cafe, counterclockwise out to the arboretum and back to C Street; 131 minutes total today as I took about 25 minutes to stick walk around some more of the arboretum, up to the goat pens. From the map those must be wildlife being conserved; just looked like big white goats to me.

Overcast, a pair of Swainson’s hawks finding a thermal over the arboretum; I enjoy watching those birds. Later, a single magpie which does not a tidings make. Just east of C Street a murder of crows was attempting to ride an updraft but crows really don’t have enough wing for that. Looked quite amateurish.

      Day 5: 387+131=518 minutes already!

      My right foot is throbbing.

    Change soxs after.
But then someone has to wash them, dry them, pair them up and put them in the sock drawer. Much easier to just not have to wear two different pairs of socks in one day.

Yes, I saw your post about that. At least it’s gone and you can move on to whatever ropes you in. These things keep you busy, and that’s a good thing.

Should be selling used cars to the bumpkins instead of bullshit to us.

Desperate for change, the sloven masses rally behind the bullshit rather than common sense, bad for the not-so-easily-led, like a ball and chain for the change needed to move forward in a meaningful (sensible) manner.

    Anti-cosmic Political Ugliness

Yes, and the shear number of those bumpkins has multiplied into scary numbers. HOW to smarten up our fellow Americans. *shaking head*

I’m looking for a hot rod now, screw smog, move briskly efficiently instead.

SMOG appears to be dealer focused due to the complexity of the various systems constructed over the last 10 years, only the dealer can interpret that particular system, and charge handsomely for the repairs, what a racket!
