Hot Sunny Sunday

DEPARTING SUNSPOT: Big sunspot AR2665 is rotating toward the sun’s western limb, turning away from Earth. “It is putting on quite a show as it departs,” says Mike Taormina, who sends this picture from Malta, New York:

AR2665 still poses a threat for solar flares and CMEs, but future eruptions won’t likely be Earth directed.  Nevertheless, this sunspot will still affect our planet in the days ahead. A CME it hurled toward us two days ago is due to arrive on July 16th, sparking high-latitude auroras and moderately-strong geomagnetic storms.

106 expected in Sac today, hot here too. Since the idiots cut down my shade tree I have had to run the AC every day, luckily it doesn’t kick on until 4 or so.

Time to go water before the heat gets here.

How about Lindy or Cindy for the flycatcher? Maybe a cute, old fashioned name, like Mabel.

I’ve no idea why I posted the flycatcher names under Den’s post, but I DID have two Margaritas today. That was at noon, however. I feel normal, lol. And it’s almost Beer-30!!! Sheesh, Carol.

I do love to putz around outside with a beer at dusk, that’s just the way it is.

Jill is going to have to pop over here in the early morning to use the toilet. Something went wrong at her place with the plumbing, plumber will come out tomorrow. Brian is out of town, working.

They are building an addition on her barn-shaped house. They let Quincy out the bedroom window upstairs to stand on the second floor with them. Jill was worried, was staying close to him and then a piece of wood slipped to the floor and scared him and he jumped off the second floor~! OMG! By some miracle, he’s ok. All four legs are fine, Jill said nothing else seems to be wrong. She screamed her head off when she saw him take off, ran to the ladder to get down to the ground and ran around the house to see him. You can imagine grandma’s reaction when I heard about this. How could she take him out there, blah, blah, blah. God, I’m so happy he’s ok. I love that dog.

“In the Hamptons too much is not enough.” Average house price is 1.7+ million but some are in the 50 million dollar bracket.

These are summer and long weekend houses, for the “sell in May and go away” crowd.
