Thank you for asking…my brother still has the chest tube that was placed as result of the lung biopsy. (Not an uncommon complicatIon, but a concern because of possibility of infection and other stuff.)
Results of biopsy are not expected “until the middle of next week” – which seems like a long time in my world!!!
His care seems fragmented and uncoordinated – and this is from vaunted UW medical facilities. One would expect better communication….none of the professionals seem to see him as a whole person. He’s a disease to them…well enough of that.
No. They did the Bx as out patient. Pneumothorax occurred. They inserted chest tube to reinflate. And sent him home same day (evening). Told him to return for X-ray today to check. Tube still in place. Supposed to return on Monday, with intention it can be removed then. 🔜🔙🔚🔝
How am I? Tongue swelled up again, I didn’t go to the ER, if I do it will be another $90 and being the 3rd visit, $270. I can’t be spending money like a drunk sailor.
It was so-so all day and then it got worse, not so I couldn’t talk, but I’m still on the fence about spending another $90. I weathered it though, took 2 of my 3 leftover Prednisones, that seemed to help and it took the pressure in my head away.
Jill all mad at me for not calling my doctor this week and getting in to see him. I didn’t know I was supposed to rush into that, she says there WAS a rush and now I don’t have any Prednisone to help me survive the weekend. I wanted to get my blood pressure log with enough entries to give my doctor something to go on before I made an appointment. I didn’t realize it was Friday.
I’ll be going to bed in a little while, hope my tongue doesn’t choke off my air while I’m sleeping. Doesn’t seem like that will happen.
