Brutal Speech Saturday

1a

NOT Free Speech, just another self-entitled White boy coward with a gun.

Don’t look away. Four white neo-Nazis are beating a black man, crawling on the ground, with their metal poles and a yellow hunk of lumber. The beating continues—there’s blood on the pavement.

Our photographer, Zach D. Roberts, continues to shoot, even as a white militant raises a 9mm pistol to his face.

Zach got a shot of the gun and gunman, too. Luckily, the gunman didn’t shoot back.

One photo has gone viral internationally. These others we bring you here because they must be seen. Including, for the first time, the gunman.

Welcome to Charlottesville, USA. Trump’s America, month eight.

Stupid White Boy tricks, hiding behind clubs and guns, too frightened to be without them, for that would put them on an equal footing with people opposing their narrow minded views.

According to the Congressional Research Service, there are roughly twice as many guns per capita in the United States as there were in 1968: more than 300 million guns in all.

It is estimated that 3% of U.S. population owns 50% of those guns.

Looks to be that Mrs. Flycatcher and Flycatcher Jr. have departed for thicker pickings. Reminded by actually seeing a flying insect right outside.

Jasna (yas-nuh), friend of Pete & Jill, hence our friend, too, came to visit Bob today. Drove down from Midland, MI which is something like halfway Up North. She’s a bit younger than my kids, but in her 40s and she’s from Serbia. Been here since she was an exchange student at 16. Perfect English now, of course, but today she called her parents in Belgrade so we could all say hello. We met them at Jasna’s wedding a few years ago. They don’t speak English, so when Jasna finally got them on the phone it was such a hoot to hear Jasna talk rapidly in a foreign language. Jill and I looked at each other and started to giggle. The word “coo-cha” came out when she was leaving a message on the answering machine. She said “coo-cha” was home. “Why are you not at home?”

When she tracked them down via her dad’s cellphone, her dad answered it and was crying. He said they were at the cemetery. Jasna’s older brother died a month or so ago. Her parents were visiting his grave when she called. To hear their sobs, not even having to understand the language, Jill and I got choked up. When Jasna hung up, she cried for a little bit. She went to Serbia and was with her brother when he died.

That was pretty much my day. Big day tomorrow with Bob’s siblings coming over. One from Holland, OH, the other from St. Clair Shores, MI. They’re bringing the food! WOO HOO! Jill picked up a batch of the Mayor Family 8mm film she had transferred to DVD. We watched some of it today, Bob’s mom was pregnant with him in some of the film! Bob’s older brother, a toddler at 15 months. Bob’s sister dressed in a tracitional Hungarian costume and doing a Hungarian dance. On that same roll was Bob AND HIS FIRST WIFE! Minerva! Jill said, “Who’s that?” to her dad. I blurted out, “IT’S MINERVA!” Man, I can’t WAIT to see the rest of the old films! We saw some today where I was 28! YEAH!!!! Young! Going to have fun watching them tomorrow with Bob’s brother and sister and their mates.

Up to the TVD bridge, east along Terre View Drive to Merman Drive, down the refurbished road to Valley Road, also refurbished, and thence home in 78 minutes. A pair of magpies and up on Terre View Drive a hawk which gave up on the tiny thermal lift.

Day 7: 442+78=520 minutes, maybe my best week yet and I wasn’t even trying.
